What bidjob is
bidjob.dev (“bidjob”, “we”) is run by the operator of bidjob.dev. It shows two lists of fully remote software engineering jobs: a ranking computed by our rules from postings on companies' own public job boards, and a bid board where anyone can pay to list a posting. The bid board is paid advertising and is labeled as such. The ranking cannot be bought.
The index and the score
- Postings, titles, locations and pay figures are read automatically from public applicant-tracking-system APIs (Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever). We store facts (company, title, pay numbers and the text they came from, location, link), not posting bodies.
- Scores are computed by the published rules on How it works. They are automated and can be wrong. Nothing here is advice, and we make no warranty about accuracy, completeness, or that a posting is still open.
- Employers can ask to have a posting or a company removed via the “Ask for removal” link on any posting page. We act on such requests, usually within two business days.
Bids
- A bid is a one-time payment to list a job posting URL on the bid board. Rank among listings is the total paid for that URL, nothing else. Rank is set when Stripe confirms the payment, not when you submit; no position, duration, or amount of traffic is guaranteed.
- Bids are not refundable: not when you're outbid, not when the posting closes, not when you withdraw, and not when we remove a listing for breaking these terms. Refunds are at our discretion only.
- Anyone may list or raise any URL. A listing does not mean the employer paid for it. The original bidder receives a private link that can withdraw the listing at any time; withdrawing doesn't refund anything.
- What may be listed: a job posting for a fully remote software engineering role on the employer's own careers site or applicant-tracking system. Not a homepage, a form, a referral or tracking link, a job board, or anything unrelated. Titles and company names must describe the posting truthfully.
- By bidding you confirm the posting is genuine, lawful where it's offered (including pay-transparency rules), and that you have the right to advertise it. You indemnify us for claims arising from your listing.
- We may remove, hide, or reject any listing at any time, including for rule breaches, suspected fraud, or a payment dispute. A chargeback removes the listing immediately.
- Listings whose posting disappears from the employer's job board, or whose URL stops responding, are hidden automatically.
- Payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's terms. We don't see or store card details. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract.
- Prices, minimums, and the rules on the bid page may change; changes don't affect bids already paid.
Clicks and counters
Click counts and page views are measured by this site, are approximate, and may be adjusted to remove automated traffic.
Liability
bidjob is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for anything arising from the bid board is limited to the amount you paid for the listing concerned.
Contact and law
Contact is through the contact form only. These terms are governed by the law of Japan. If part of them is unenforceable, the rest stands.
